How does listening to Classical music make people smarter?

Classical music is viewed with vary perspectives around the world. Classical music was one of the first types of music created, it’s sweet and flowing. In the times of Mozart and Bach it flourished but now lately people look on classical music as old fashioned and boring. However, these people are missing out because in fact classical music is good for the human brain and body. Classical music makes people smarter and helps us do tasks more efficiently.

Classical music can help us is various ways. One such way is that it can help people enhance their reading and testing skills. For example something as simple as “listening to any work by Mozart about 10 minutes before an SAT or a test will help you do better on that test” (Campbell 1). When people feel like reading a book but are not good at reading listen to some classical music any song will do by any one classical composer, Mozart, Bach, or Beethoven. After listening to classical music and then reading people will notice a great improvement with their reading skills for classical music helps people better improve in this particular area. If there are people who don’t like reading because they are slow readers classical music may just change your perspective. Classical music can help people improve in a vast amount of areas; one such area is that it helps people think and study.

One of the most helpful things that classical music does at least for students is that classical music helps people study and think. If a student feels stressed out about how much homework they have due the next day just plug in some classical music. The effects that classical music has on the human body will help calm people down which enables them to think straight. People will be surprised at how much they will be able to accomplish. Even some of the most influential people of our country’s history have used classical music to their benefit. One great example of this is when “Classical music helped Thomas Jefferson write the declaration of independence” (O’Donnell 1). The classical music helped Jefferson think clearly and gave him influence that helped him in writing one of the most famous documents of our history’s time. One of the smartest men in history use classical music to aid him in his life. “Even though Einstein did poorly in school he was not down for the count just yet. His parents bought him a violin and he played classical music which helped him do better in school and in his studies” (O’Donnell 1). If it weren’t for that violin and the classical music that Einstein played who knows what might have happened to him, he may not have been as bright as was later on in life. Music can be most helpful to even the poorest of students to the brightest of people. Just like with helping people think, listening to classical music will help people study by helping them concentrate on what they are doing, which enables them to work hard and focus on what they are trying to study for. We all know how hard and stressed people get when studying for those rigorous final exams if anyone should need helped studying or focusing classical music will do the trick. Another thing that people might find that classical music is good for is that it helps people concentrate when trying to think.

Classical music has a nice sweet, quiet sound that eases, and also clams the body which enables the listener to be able to concentrate. Listening to classical music could come in handy when students are about to take a big test, or need to be focused on a game. The music helps people concentrate so they can think clearly on whatever task they have set themselves. For example say someone needs to focus on a big came that he or she has that day. On the bus ride they listen to classical music, which calms them down and helps them concentrate. Now that they are concentrated they can think clearly and do the best they can to win their game. Classical music isn’t just boring it helps people be a better thinkers and a smarter people. All these are good benefits of classical music that help people in many ways.

Classical music is the back bone of music and nowadays people don’t seem to really enjoy or appreciate it like they should. People are also missing out on all the good benefits have for the human body. People need to open up and try something new that could benefit them in ways they never thought possible. If people weren’t so opposed to change and try something new then they might find that they like classical music. Classical music is one of most old and beloved genres of music of all time, which actually can help make people smarter. No one really knows why it makes us smarter but classicla music just does (TIME magazine). Although to be smarter first people have to be smart and just listen to classical music’s sweet sound.
